Natasha Hudson Crime

So they say she's got the looks. There's no doubt about that. But some say she's got the brains as well. Well, no hard feelings Natasha, but that's quite debatable, at least not to an extent that she's able to produce her own poetry.

This entry is about the one and only Natasha Hudson. Just one of the many people that color Malaysia oh so brightly! Sure many have talked about her, but on this issue, I really don't want to be left out!!

Just for a heads up, Natasha Hudson is a Malaysian model and actress of Malay and Anglo-Australian parentage. She is best known for her role as Nazrin Aziz in the Malaysian horror movie Chermin. I got that from Wikipedia.

So the story goes. Like any average kid, Natasha was so interested in poetry during her childhood days that she decided to write some of her own. Not until recently, she was encouraged by families and friends to publish the poems. And so she did. These are just some from the poetry book, 'Puisi Indah Si Pari-Pari'.

Kek Coklat

Saya mahu satu kehidupan
Kamu mahu sesuatu yang lain
Kita tidak dapat makan kek coklat
Jadi kita makan sesama sendiri

Surprisingly though,
it turned out there was another poem, in English, that had all the exact same words as this poem. Check it out:

Cake
(By Roger McGough)

I wanted one life
You wanted another
We couldn't have our cake
So we ate each other

Here's another one of Natasha's poem:

Si Kura-Kura Kecil

Ada seekor kura-kura kecil
tinggal di dalam kotak
berenang di tepi tasik
memanjat di atas batu

dia cuba menggigit nyamuk
dia cuba menggigit kutu

dia cuba menggigit berudu
dia cuba menggigit aku

dia berjaya menangkap nyamuk
dia berjaya menangkap kutu

dia berjaya menangkap berudu
tetapi dia tidak berjaya menangkap aku

And just as surprisingly, there's also a poem in English with the same words! How absurd?!!

I Have a Little Turtle
(By Nicholas Vachel Lindsay)

There was a little turtle.
He lived in a box.
He swam in a puddle.
He climbed on the rocks.

He snapped at a mosquito.
He snapped at a flea.
He snapped at a minnow.
And he snapped at me.

He caught the mosquito.
He caught the flea.
He caught the minnow.
But he didn't catch me.

Hold on, I've got more.

Mentega kuning, jelly ungu, jam merah, roti hitam

Mentega kuning, jelly ungu, jam merah, roti hitam
ratakan tebal
katakan cepat

ratakan tebal
katakan cepat

sekarang ulang
sambil kamu makan

sekarang ulang
sambil kamu makan

janganlah bercakap
bila mulut kamu penuh

Yup, you guessed it! There's also an English version!

Things We Like to Eat
(By Mary Ann Hoberman)

Yellow butter, purple jelly, red jam, black bread.
Spread it thick,
Say it quick.

Yellow butter, purple jelly, red jam, black bread
Spread it thicker,
Say it quicker.

Yellow butter, purple jelly, red jam, black bread
Now repeat it,
While you eat it.

Yellow butter, purple jelly, red jam, black bread
Don't talk
With your mouth full!

You do the judging!

tuh la pasal..

any normal person would've done the same thing.. it doesn't get more humiliating than this!haha..

but she decided to actually defend herself and not say anything about copying other's poetry.

freaking bimbo...

Hubab Al Munzir Asmawi said...

sbb die translate sepatah2, jadi takde maksud langsung la sajak die tu..
and heck, wth is roti hitam? klu die translate jadi roti canai pon boleh di consider lagi.. ini ape daa..

Hubab Al Munzir Asmawi said...

and ya, she is one freaking BIMBO!! lol

haha..pretty laughable..
kot yer pun...takyah la translate sebijik2..
gile cacat kot? hoho

bimbo giler dier nie. dah lah direct translation

"jadi kami makan sesama sendiri"

hmmmm don't think it has the same meaning as " we ate each other"

gadis gelihati..
thanks for sharing that info. if she really made that poem, why in the world would she include 'roti hitam'?
crap gle la die ni..haha..

mirza wa ghulam..
ade orang cakap die upah orang ntuk tulis poem ntuk die.. turned out this ass-hole decided to just translate other people's instead. so itu la hasilnye..

so jurai..
maybe that explains the bad english translation.

she actually decided to defend herself in this one blog. Click on link
She also used to have a blog. But probably after fierce critics of her 'work' she decided to delete or private it. well..

My thoughts exactly. Roti hitam? Roti hitam??! I suspect she initially thought it meant burnt toast. Geez.

Last I checked, someone's trying to scare our Ms. Jannah with lawsuit threat. Hunh. You gotta love this Hudson woman. She tries too hard.

well, somehow aku rasa logik jugak kebetulan.. walaupun chance dia agak sedikit..hhaahahahha. tp cam.. i don't think wujud org sebodoh ni nk tiru poem org lain? tk rase ke?

hahahaha.

there must be an explanation.. well camne2 pun..nothing is impossible.

well...assumption kami was that..dia bace poems nih in english mase kecik and watned to practice her malay at the same time..so dia pon translate laa yang english tu ke melayu...so...mebi dia rase dia yang buat yang melayu tuh sbb she tried translating it..hahha...konon nk defend dia laaa...tapi cam tak dapat je..sorry datin hudson!

Hubab Al Munzir Asmawi said...

nab,
tak logic kot kebetulan die punye poem same. sbb 3 poem tuh same, klu satu, ade kebarangkalian kebetulan..but 3? come on la..

and klu bace poem die, it doesn't rhyme at all, and has no meaning into it. penah dgr orang melayu makan roti hitam?

"Saya mahu satu kehidupan
Kamu mahu sesuatu yang lain
Kita tidak dapat makan kek coklat
Jadi kita makan sesama sendiri" ~~~ wth does this mean? kenape tetibe takleh makan kek coklat? what does it have to do with kehidupan?

that's just one of the many kecacatan pada poetry natasha.

and true ashwaq, that was the many assumptions made by people. But until this datin decides to reveal the truth, we can never know for sure

Wow, I didn't know this was an issue! I'm in M'sia & I wasn't even aware of this. Heck, I don't even know who this Natasha is.

She's funny though. Dramatic. I pity her.
